Full technical information and 3D product models of Alpha Laval’s plate heat exchangers are now available for browsing on MagiCloud. They are also accessible from MagiCAD Databases from where MEP designers can use these products in their MagiCAD for AutoCAD projects. Plate heat exchangers are a type of heat exchanger that uses metal plates to transfer heat between two fluids. This has a major advantage over a conventional heat exchanger in that the fluids are exposed to a much larger surface area because the fluids spread out over the plates. This facilitates the transfer of heat, and greatly increases the speed of the temperature change.[1]

Products available are the following:

Gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchangers

Gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchangers provide efficient heat transfer in compact equipment with a small footprint. The units have a flexible design and are easy to service and maintain. The product range is extremely wide and is used in duties for heating, cooling, heat recovery, evaporation and condensation in industries ranging from HVAC, refrigeration, engine cooling, dairy and food to heavier processes like chemical processing, oil production and power generation.

Heating systems small

A range of small “plug & play” substations providing hot water for space heating & Domestic Hot Water (DHW). Applications include one-family houses up to 12 apartments. To be connected to district heating network, community network or local heating source, with possibility to combine with renewables. Capacity: up to 60 kW.
